How can Life Recovery Skills classes help you?
When I started classes, I was very isolated and feeling like I was crazy for having the thoughts and feelings that I was having. I found out that I was not alone and that I was not crazy. I have been able to deal with a lot of my hidden pain, resentments and anger toward others. I have made huge gains in these areas and feel like I finally have some inner peace about who I am and my purpose in life. - A. N.
Life Recovery Skills classes have changed my life. I have improved my communication skills and as a result, my relationships. I have also gained a clearer picture of not only who God desires me to be, but how to do it. Through the various courses I have grown as a wife, mother, daughter, and friend. - E. R.
My husband I were miles apart...we were 2 confused, wounded children trying to be grown up. We were aggravated, separate, going through the motions, stuck in the same rut that the generations before us had made. With the help of the tools, the tool masters, and our fellow reconstruction workers, we are climbing the sides of that rut and leaving it behind. At times we do fall over the side again, but now we can yell out, “Hey, throw us a rope and help us out again!” Our kids are being dusted off from the dirt and grime of our rut, and together we are forging a new path. - P. S.
I originally enrolled in an LRS class out of sheer desperation to do something to change the course of relationships in my life...over the past year and a half of various classes I have discovered a common thread in all my relationships...through these groups of women I have been built up and loved in a way that I have never before experienced. - A. C.
Dr. Leslie says, "Having been involved in my own healing process, which I will generally term “Life Recovery” for over 25 years, I recognize the value as well as the commitment it requires to see the benefits. Learning to change life-long behaviors is a “one layer at a time” process. This program works because it offers a supportive group environment, and also teaches concrete skills that individuals can use on a daily basis to help improve all their relationships.
These Life Recovery SKills classes meet the needs of the “Emotional quadrant” of healing in helping my patients and clients improve their health. This composite program called “Healing the Wounded Child ” has offered hundreds of men and women the opportunity to begin their healing process in this quadrant. While there are no stated or implied guarantees as a result of participation in this program, history has shown that the knowledge you will receive will provide you with life-changing tools that, if used properly, can lead to reconstructed self-esteem, reconciled relationships and revitalized hope. Of course, the decision to apply these tools correctly and consistently is always an individual choice. It takes work and practice and like the cliché says, “you will get out of the class what you put into it.”
In summary, this program will provide you with an understanding of why you do what you do, and how you can change. This will be accomplished by offering you two things:
• An optimal combination of existing healing and personal growth resources, and
• A safe, yet dynamic facilitated group process environment that will promote comprehension and application.
Some of the territories that you will visit on your journey, and also some of the areas you need to understand before you begin will include:
|Reactive Behaviors||Power and Control||Attitudes|
|Addictive Behaviors||Belief Systems||“Safe People”|
|The “Mom” Factor||Discarding “Masks”||Passive/Aggressive|
|Developing Relationships||Communication||Self Esteem|
|Understanding Men||Fear of Change||Life Commandments|
